Appearance: Baralai has dark, tan skin, brown eyes, and a blue bandanna that holds back his short white hair. His clothes consist of a complicated design. Simplified, it is a green trench coat, green pants, and orange boots.
Personality: Quiet, thoughtful, and polite, it is quite hard to tell if he is actually befriending anyone for friendship or it he finds them to be useful for a greater purpose. He is almost always calm in any situation, but beneath the surface may lie a darker person.

History: Leaving the city and temple of Bevelle, he joined a squadron that would be put into numerous trials and training to join the Crimson Squad. The Crimson Squad was formed by the temples of Yu Yevon to fight against the monsters created by Sin, a monster who ravaged the world on a massive scale, as well as to keep an eye on the Crusaders, another sqad that was made to protect the people from Sin. He met and befriended the three people in his squad, Gippal, Paine, and Nooj. He was the closest to Gippal who was ironically part of the race that was the bane and hatred of Yu Yevon, Baralai's people.
After much hardship, they made it to their last mission in one piece. They were to go into a cave, the Din of Woe, and report back. It was easy for them at first, but then something in the cave was possessing the soldiers who then killed each other and eventual possessed Baralai, Gippal, and Nooj. Paine managed to snap them out of it, but the spirit that possessed them, Shuyin, remained in Nooj.
They learned of a massive weapon that could destroy the world, Vegnagun, and made it out and reported it. They were then made official members of the Crimson Squad but the minute they turned their backs, they were shot upon. No one was to know of Vegnagun. They managed to get away and decided to split up for better chance of survival, but again, the minute they turned to leave, Nooj shot them in the back.
Not knowing why Nooj, someone he trusted, tried to kill him, Baralai made it to Bevelle and was taken under the wing of a corrupt and evil leader of Yu Yevon. After the death of that leader, Baralai went up in rank to learn more about Vegnagun. Eventually, Baralai was charged into protecting the weapon.
Nooj, possessed by Shuyin, turned Vegnagun on. The machine made it's way to the land of the dead, the Farplane. Baralai, after learning this, confronted Nooj. Baralai's strong feelings of hate allowed Shuyin to take control of him, and he, now a mindless puppet, then proceeded to control Vegnagun to blow up the world.
Gippal, Nooj, Paine, and her new companions, Yuna and Rikku, along with a few others, then proceeded to stop him...
